Half delirious from lack of sleep and rocking out to Joan Osborne when i aught to be packing for the big move /slash/ trip to Burning Man. At this point is it better to take a few hour nap or just say 'fuck it' and keep on truck'n (so to speak)?
I'll keep you updated.

Music In The Morning
I leave tomorrow to begin my grand adventure. First Reno, then Burning Man and when i return to San Francisco it will be to my brand new apartment in the Castro for which i am signing the lease today.
Adventure baby! It's my very favorite thing.

Music In The Morning
Sorry i've been MIA the last few days gang, I got roped into working the TatExpo down at the Cow Palace. It's been all Ink, Steel, and Bros from dusk til dawn. I'm headed back there today, but thankfully it closes out at 8p tonight so i can make it to Honey for DJ PeePlay's birfday shenanigans.

And Now a Word From Our Sponsors
H.P. Lovecraft is one of my favorite authors, and 'The Call of Cthulhu' is probably his most famous story. This great little synopsis is for those that can't deal with his breathtaking racism (for which he should be given some leeway, he was writing in the early 1900's) or have forgotten how to read.

Music In The Morning
I've been so restless lately, and discontent. I'm not bummed out. I'm just ready for something different.

Music In The Morning
Time to get up and start my day.
My best gal-pal, Erin, is in town. She, Danimal, and myself are going to go find me some costumes for the Burn.
(i'm stoked!)

Music In The Morning
I'm not going to lie to you. I am a huge, unabashed fan of Cazwell. His music is fun and catchy, his videos are chock full of cute boys, and in person he is very very sweet.
Here is the video for his new single, Ice Cream Truck...
(one of those very sexy boys is my very sexy friend, Angel. Hi Angel!!!)
Now, i know it's a little early in the morning to be picking fights with my friends and allies, but i've been experiencing this steady stream of vitriol regarding Cazwell ever since this single came out. A lot of it from the more radical queer/fairy end of my social circle, and a lot of it simply personal attacks: calling him a 'lame douche-bag' and 'another dumb, rich, white-boy'.
And to that i have to say "Stop being haters,"
The Cazwell that i have met (briefly, on a handful of occasions) has always been flawlessly polite and affable. And though i have no intimate knowledge of the contents of his bank account i do know that he busts his ass everyday; Promoting parties, DJing, and making music.
Thats something to be applauded, not shit on.

Life in Cloud City
It's done.
Yesterday afternoon Federal Judge Vaughn Walker struck down Proposition 8, the ballot initiative passed by California limiting marriage to unions between a man and a woman.
People around here were pretty stoked.
I have to be honest; i haven't exactly been dreading the this case, but it definitely had me concerned. There is a part of me that thinks that if we want full equality then those are fights we are going to have to win at the ballot box. Not that we should have to, but. I worry that if 51% of Californian's don't willingly mark their 'x' in favor of homosexual right then those rights will on some level always be viewed by the majority of the population as illegitimate, and thus easily taken away.
But Judge Walker's ruling was pretty much a constitutional smack-down on the Pro-Prop 8 forces. It's long and thoughtful, and very heartwarming (and it's already been appealed).
I think i should just take my friend Seth's advice and celebrate victories where i find them.

Music In The Afternoon
I can't believe i slept in til noon!
It's not as though i did anything crazier last night than watching The West Wing until 1am (i'm at the end of season three and i'm a little obsessed).
Oh well, I guess I needed it.

Music In The Morning
It occurs to me that there is something vaguely fratish in the way my friends and i go about our adventures. We are definitely the loudest gay family at any event, and this weekend at the River was no different. Whether lounging by the pool at the Triple R, drifting lazily down the river, or BBQing at our camp until 5am, we are not hard kids to find.
But no one has more fun than us.
Fact.
