Morning Cartoons

What happens when you remove Garfield from the comic that bares his name? Garfield Minus Garfield, a hilarious and heartbreaking tale of loneliness and meth addiction in suburban America.

Big Gay World

This week in international faggotry: Brazil's President Silva (known affectionately as 'Lula') came out in favor of same sex unions, saying "politicians who oppose same-sex unions and yet seek the votes of gay men and women during elections are 'hypocrites.'"

Meanwhile in Nepal this week a Lesbian woman has won her fight to be the first person recognized as "Third Sex" by Nepal's new Maoist led Republic.

Comic Gold!

This almost makes me excited for four years of McCain/Palin... almost.

This is why i love comedy as an art form. When it is done right there is no swifter nor more elegant way to cut to the heart of an issue (in this case Governor Palin's faux feminism). I sure hope Hopey McChange-a-lot appreciates Tina Fey's (GENIUS!) re framing of the debate.

September 11

I found this on flickr just now, and I can't help thinking 'We are no safer then we were seven years ago,"

Happy(?) September 11th everyone, i hope you are all safe and with your loved ones.

You Gotte Give 'em Hope

I finally saw the 'Milk' trailer and i'm all chocked up right now.

Enjoy...

Welcome Home

Good Morning San Francisco,

And to those of you, like me, newly returned from the Burning Man Festival, "Welcome Home."

If you couldn't make it out to Black Rock City this year let me tell you, it was Epic. Just Epic. But I'll tell you all about that later, after i sort out my thoughts and memories (and pictures). In the mean time lets talk about whats going on in the 'Default World,'

Firstly, right before i left Barack Obama picked Joe Biden to be his running mate, and Joe came out swinging.

Then came the Democratic Convention in Denver where Hillary Clinton gave a speech touting her own awesomeness...

And of course the Daily Show was there to call her on it.

Changey McHopes-a-lot formally accepted the Democratic nomination for the Presidancy...

...which was genuinely awesome.

And John McCain chose his running mate, Sarah Palin, the Governor of Alaska. An unusually astute choice for McCain whose only major drawback that i can see is that she used to be a member of the Alaskan Independence Party.

oh! and New Orleans was not destroyed for a second time, which is so nice i can't even joke about it.

Sigh... it's nice to be home.
